ACB XI captain Davinder Singh won the toss and elected to bat first under lights, but his decision backfired immediately as Media Cricket Club bowlers made an early inroad taking two wickets in first two overs. Media Cricket Club bowlers bowled with nagging line and length and ACB XI were five down for 32 runs in 6 overs.
But a magnificent batting display by Zahoor along with Sorav playing aggressive game and despite wickets tumbling from other end ACB XI scored 151 runs in stipulated 20 overs loosing 9 wickets. Zahoor score 63 runs in just 43 balls & Sourav scored quickfire 22 in 10 bowls.
For Media Cricket Club Captain Vivek Suri, Ashish & Shubham shared 2 wickets each while Rahul Khatri & Raghav took 1 wicket apiece.
Chasing a good total of 152 runs in 20 overs Media Cricket Club openers started on a steady note but Vishal departed early at his individual score of 10 runs. But Amit Kumar & Raghav laid a solid foundation for run chase and both of them shared a vital partnership of 77 runs in 55 balls before Raghav was out for well made 45 in 34 balls.
At one time it seems that Media Cricket Club will lift the trophy as the required 32 runs in 24 balls but Tahir of ACB XI had other plans as he cleaned up Amit and Pawan in single over and from there it was a daunting task for MCC. A late flamboyance by Gurdeep couldn’t tilted the game in favor of Media Cricket Club and ACB XI Jammu won by a thin margin of 4 runs. Amit scored 44 runs & Gurdeep made 22 runs.
Zahoor of ACB XI was declared Man of the Match whereas Raghav was declared Player of the Tournament.
