Agtonomy, a South San Francisco and Sonoma County, California-based software and service startup in agtech, has received $13.5M as Seed III funding. The round was managed by Cavallo Ventures and Mirae Asset Venture Investment.
The company plans to use the funds to build an additional layer of strategic expertise for its team. It will expand the current fleet of vehicles running with Agtonomy technological innovations in the field and accelerate the trials of the service platform designed to tackle the increasing skills shortages of local farmers.
The company’s Director of Operations, Tim Bucher, Agtonomy, gives local farmers and land maintenance professionals the capacity to tackle the shortage of skilled workers by utilizing autonomous equipment to automate repetitive tasks with greater effectiveness and accuracy.
The executive team comprises professionals in the AI, EV, cloud agriculture and service industries, having extensive experience with businesses such as Amazon, Apple, Google, Dell, Microsoft, Uber, Cruise, and Zoox, along with life-long farming experience in Northern California agriculture operations such as Trattore Farms.
