As lumpy skin disease spreads faster in Rajouri, the government sleeps: Ch.Zulfikar Ali

Lumpy skin disease: RAJOURI, 24 AUGUST 2022: Choudhary Zulfikar Ali, Apni Party Vice President and Former Cabinet Minister, has asked Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to form a Task Force immediately to address the challenge posed by the rapidly spreading lumpy skin disease in Rajouri District, where farmers have lost cattle.

In a statement to the press, Choudhary Zulfikar Ali expressed concern over the irresponsible attitude of the authorities towards the spread of lumpy skin disease in Rajouri District.

“There is no doctor, medicine, or vaccine to control the infectious disease. The farmers rearing cattle have suffered huge losses and the government seems to have no plans to compensate them,” he said.

He said that the government must announce compensation to the farmers who have lost their cattle.

Many of the farmers who are dependent on cattle rearing have suffered badly, and they should be provided needed relief in the shape of medical aid and financial assistance,” he said, highlighting the concerns of the people as many dairy farmers and the cattle rearing industry.

He said that with the continuous deaths of the domestic cattle/dairy farm due to the uncontrollable lumpy skin disease, the emerging situation required the immediate personal attention of the LG J&K.

He demanded that the LG constitute a task force, establish a control room and send medical teams to villages in hilly and remote areas of Rajouri District.

He also demanded that the medicine and teams of expert doctors be sent to Rajouri’s affected villages without wasting further time.
