Department of Library Science of GDC R. S. PURA organized a lecture on LIBRARY E- RESOURCES to celebrate Day-1 i.e. National Library Day of National Library Week (14 th – 20 the November 2022) under the aegis of IQAC. The event was organized under the worthy patronage of Principal, Prof. Sunil Uppal. The aim of this lecture was to aware the students about the valuable library e-resources and their importance.
Lecture was delivered by Ms. Nisha Kumari, Librarian / HOD, Department of Library Science. She highlighted the theme of the week ‘CONNECT WITH YOUR LIBRARY’ and also discussed about the life and contributions of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan who has been regarded as Father of Library Science in India and mentioned his contribution for the profession and express her best wishes Happy Library Day & Happy
Children’s Day to the Library staff members and students on this occasion.
She presented a detailed talk on library e-resources and services like Library Website, Library OPAC, N-LIST, NDLI, e-PGpathshala, etc. and how users can connect with the library by using these e- resources. Dr. Preetpal Kour, Incharge Principal, appreciated the efforts taken by the department to organize such programme, for providing effective library services using new technologies, and conveyed his greetings to the staff and students.
