District Legal Services Authority Bhaderwah celebrates Constitution Day

BHADERWAH, Nov 26: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Bhaderwah, today celebrated Constitution day on the premises of Govt Higher Secondary School girls Bhaderwah here today where the preamble of the constitution was also read. The principal of the school Bharat Bhushan was the chief guest whereas Brijesh Kumar vice principal, Advocate Mohd Majid Malik, Advocate Devyia Kotwal, teacher Sujata Mangotra PLV Omesh Chouhan, Afsha Shamim, Reeta Devi and others were also present on the occasion. 

Resource person Advocate Mohd Majid Malik and Advocate Devyia Kotwal while speaking on the occasion highlighted important provisions and the most cherished and beautiful values enshrined in the document. Both speakers said that on this day we have to recall the cherished ideas, goals and aspirations underlying the constitutional provisions to play our role at every level to press these rich values into service.

Adv Mohd Majid Malik also informed that on Nov 26, 1949, the constituent assembly of India formally adopted the constitution of India and it came into force on January 26, 1950 constitution day aims to bring awareness about the importance of the constitution and Dr B R Ambedkar. He also said that the constitution of India declares the country as a sovereign, secular, social and democratic republic and it assures its citizen’s equality, liberty and justice.

Adv Mohd Majid Malik further said the number of articles has increased in the constitution to 448 to 100 amendments and the Preamble is a brief statement that records the aims and aspirations of the people of India. The constitution of India came into force after 24 years, 11 months and 18 days, he added.
