Doda: On the eve of World Environment Day 2022 a seminar and intra-college poster competition was held at GDC KILHOTRAN DODA by the DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE in collaboration with IQAC on the topic “PROTECTION OF ENVIRONMENT THROUGH SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT” in which large no of students and faculty members took active participation.
Prof. Rafiq Ahmad Beig ( Organizing Secretary, HOD Evs. ) Welcomed Worthy Principal and all other student participants and faculty members who participated in large numbers in the event. He appreciated the role of WORTHY PRINCIPAL for his tireless efforts and all possible help in making the event successful. The competitions were organized under the overall guidance and supervision of Dr. Javid Iqbal, worthy Principal of the college.
The jury of the senior faculty members viz. Dr. Wahid Khawar Balwan (HOD Zoology), Dr. Tanveer Hussain (HOD History), Prof . Yasar Ahmed (HOD Persian), and Prof. Yasar Ahmed Beigh (HOD Arabic) adjudged Miyan Tahira Niyazi (2nd sem.) as first, Saima Saleem (2nd sem.) second and Shakshi Devi (2nd sem.) third topers in the poster competition and Mr. Nayeem Ahmed (2nd sem.) as first, Nain Singh (6th sem.) second and Waseem Ahmed (2nd sem.) as third toppers in seminar respectively.
Organizing Secretary Prof. Rafiq Ahmad Beig highlighted the importance of the world environment day 2022 and throw light on the theme ONLY ONE EARTH and the slogan HOW HUMANS CAN LIVE IN HARMONY WITH NATURE in a comprehensive manner.
He stressed upon student community in particular and other society and community members in general to develop moral ethics towards environmental protection through sustainable development. He also appealed the students to develop sensitiveness and sense of responsibility towards environmental issues in order to mitigate the environmental degradation.
Worthy Principal of the college Dr. Javid Iqbal while delivering a keynote address appreciated the role of Dept. of Evs Particularly Prof. Rafiq Ahmad Beig, Organizing Secretary of the event, for the successful culmination of the competitions. He also appealed to the students to take benefit of such events and join the classroom regularly for completing the prescribed curriculum as the classroom teaching of the faculty has well prepared the students for the forthcoming exams.
Moreover Worthy Principal also stressed upon the student community in particular and society in general to follow natural laws and sustainable development means for the protection and conservation of the environment. He also stressed and motivated the students to take part in such events in the future to express their analytical and descriptive skills.
Dr. Tanveer Hussain (HOD History) while thanking the audience emphasized strengthening the relationship between human beings and the environment by sustainable means.
