Continuing the endeavour to provide high-quality healthcare services at the doorsteps of the public, a school health camp was organized by Health Department Kotranka at Govt Higher Secondary School Samote.

Weekly series of School Camps are being organized every Saturday in Block Kandi under the direction of Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Saleem Ur Rahman and Dr. Hamid Zarger CMO Rajouri.

These weekly school camps are being directly supervised by Dr. Iqbal Malik BMO Kandi.

The objective of these school camps is to provide Counselling to adolescent boys and girls, medical check-up, distribution of iron/ calcium and albendazole tablets / Laboratory investigations including Blood Groping, Haemoglobin (HB) testing /Awareness regarding HIV-AIDS/ use of iodized salt/ Coronavirus / Mental Health/ Anaemia Mukt Bharat. Besides, training for the proper technique of hand washing and the importance of hygiene for good health.

The health team also talked about menstrual hygiene and Menstrual napkins were also distributed to the adolescent girls at the camp.
Medical Officers also screened the students for health issues and 73 students were given treatment for their minor ailments on the spot. Free medicines were distributed to the students. In addition, Laboratory tests, HB, blood grouping, iron, Albendazole, calcium tablets, and Ayurvedic tonics were also distributed in the school.

Sh. Ashfaq Ahmed Voice Principal, as well as school teachers, expressed their gratitude to the health department for this great initiative
