International widows day at Mahore, Reasi

Udhampur, 24 Jun 2022: On the occasion of International Widows Day, the Indian Army at Mahore reached out to Veer Nari, Smt Neelma Devi widow of Sepoy late Rattan Singh of 163 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) SIKH Light who attained martyrdom while fighting against terrorists at Khushipura Chowk (Srinagar) on 26 November 2020.

During the event, representatives from the unit interacted with Veer Nari and her family members to know their well-being. In addition, Smt Neelma Devi was felicitated by presenting a gift from the battalion at her residence. On the occasion of Braveheart, Sepoy’s late Rattan Singh was also remembered for his courage and devotion to duty.

The initiative would go a long way in establishing a sense of belonging among the Veer Naris and in cementing the fact that the Indian Army family is always standing by them.
