Madan Lal Chalotra seeks 27% percent reservation for OBC in J&K

JAMMU, JUNE 15: Apni Party OBC State Coordinator, Madan Lal Chalotra today demanded a reservation of 27 percent for OBC people in J&K.

He made this demand while addressing a public meeting at Balmiki Colony in Gandhi Nagar. The meeting was organized by Sham Singh Bhatti where a discussion on various issues being confronted by the OBC people held a threadbare discussion.

In his address, Chalotra said that the OBC people have suffered and they were not accorded political reservation in J&K. The population is facing political, social and economic backwardness with no attention from the Govt, he added.

He said that to overcome the backwardness of the OBC people, the Govt must enhance the reservation of OBC people in J&K up to 27 percent at par with the rest of the States in the country.

He also demanded a caste-based census in J&K. He said that Apni Party is the only ray of hope in J&K and appealed to the people to join the party to strengthen it for the welfare of the entire Union Territory artists the regions.

The meeting was attended by OBC General Secretary Darshan Mehra, OBC Provincial President, Sohan Singh, District General Secretary, Jammu Urban OBC General Secretary, Shardeesh Rana, Prem Sagar and Sukhwinder Singh Ladi.
