Jammu, June 22: A public meeting was organized by the Coordination Committee Jammu District (Urban), Central Zone JKNC at Babu Fort in district Jammu which was presided over by Chander Mohan Sharma President Jammu District (Urban) whereas, Zonal President and Former Minister Babu Ram Paul, was the Chief guest. The meeting was organized by BD Dalhotra, Secretary Central Zone at Bahu Fort which was attended by hundreds of people.
While speaking on the occasion Babu Rampaul said that the National Conference is committed to fighting for the rights of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that few forces are working to divide people into the communal and regional lines which will be given a befitting reply. “The country is presently going through a state of crisis. The graph of inflation is constantly rising, the prices of essential commodities are sky-rocketing and still, BJP is claiming good governance” he added.

“The roll-out of Agnipath Scheme is a cruel joke with the youth of the nation who have been craving for joining the army and particularly those having undergone written and physical tests before the harsh ‘no recruitment’ move unleashed two years ago”, Babu Rampaul said while interacting with the prominent inhabitants of Babu Fort.
The Former Minister questioned the rationale behind the scheme, envisaging recruitment for four years on a contractual basis with compulsory retirement for three-fourths of the recruits without gratuity or pension benefits. He said the youth have genuine apprehensions about their careers being jeopardized by such measures which raise questions and doubts in their minds.
He described such moves as desperate acts of diverting attention as the BJP government has failed in generating employment and providing ‘two crores’ of jobs every year promised in successive elections since 2014. He said that the best recourse available to the government is to roll back the Agnipath Scheme in the larger interest of the nation and the youth.
He said that the condition of hospitals is deplorably unhygienic, replete with filth and dirt. Unfortunately, the hospitals generally lack adequate facilities for the patients, who even do not get free medicines.
He added that there is an acute paucity of infrastructure and a shortage of teaching faculty in Govt Colleges and Schools. On this behalf, no one cares even when the study of students has already been hit hard due to Covid 19 pandemic in the last two years. He urged the LG Administration to pay close attention to the Health and Education sector to improve infrastructure, health care as well as academic growth of students.
Addressing a gathering here today, Chander Mohan Sharma reiterated the party’s demand for restoration of full statehood to Jammu & Kashmir before the announcement of assembly elections. “J&K has suffered a lot since the abrogation of state status as in the absence of popular govt people are feeling suffocated due to their continuous neglect on all fronts,” he added.
Bureaucratic rule no substitute for popularly elected govt: NC
Now, they want to get rid of bureaucratic rule and wait for the popularly elected government,” he further said. He maintained that bureaucratic rule is no substitute for the popularly elected government.
Addressing people, Dr. Vikas Sharma Coordinator Jammu District Urban and Zonal Secretary, said that ever since BJP took over the reign into its hand, besides the general public, the majority of youth have been broken and gone into a state of desperation due to anti-youth policies of the present government. He urged the young generation to strengthen the hands of the National Conference enabling it to redouble its efforts to get the status of Jammu and Kashmir statehood restored.
BD Dalhotra also addressed the gathering and said NC has a legacy of serving the poor and weaker sections of the society which was started by Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah. He said NC has many achievements in its kitty and urged the party cadres to narrate them to the young generation so that they may come to know what NC has done for them in the past.
Dozens of youth today joined the National Conference under the leadership of Dr. Vikas Sharma and in the presence of the Zonal President and District President.
The others who spoke on the occasion include Dr. Vikas Sharma, R.K Chanayal, S.Nirmal Singh, Adv Aslam Choudhary, S.Surjit Singh Sasan and TR Mandi.
Other prominent presents on the occasion include Sandesh Shan, Som raj taroch, Satpaul Shabotra, Surjeet Kumar, Bahadur lal, Adv Ravi, Dr. Sushil, Baldev Raj and others.
