Medical Camp organized by Indian Army in Border Areas of Samba District

 Mission First Brigade under the aegis of Gurj Division conducted a Medical Camp for Gujjars & Bakkarwals in the border areas of Samba District (J&K) on 13 Sep 2022.  The camp was organized to provide medical assistance to Gujjars, Bakkarwals and locals of border areas in the proximity of the International Border along Basantar River.

The camp included a screening of individuals, medical consultation by Army doctors and provision of free medicines.  In addition to medical treatment, the locals were also educated on health-related issues, and hygiene and guided on leading a healthy lifestyle. Customized packs for menopause & mother care, specifically designed for women of these border areas, were provided.

A workshop regarding road safety was also organized to facilitate Ex-servicemen & Veer Naris of the area. The locals appreciated the initiative and showed up in large numbers. The positive response of the populace indicates the strengthened relationship between the army and locals of the border areas in the Samba District.
