The members of the Movement for Peace, Equality & Justice (MPEJ) in a Press handout issued here,
have strongly ridiculed the policy of Jammu Municipality whereby they have slapped bills &
notices to Private schools worth several thousand on account of cleanliness whereas the fact
on the ground is Municipal sweepers perform no work inside the schools and still charging of
huge amount from Private school owners is nothing short of injustice and high-handedness, the
release alleged.
The release further wondered as to how rupees one thousand eight hundred are being
slapped and charged from Private school owners, without any service inside the schools is
certainly a doctoral step on the part of Jammu Municipality and needs immediate revocation
keeping in line with the natural justice of “ NO work- no pay” the release maintained and added that
higher authorities’ should take cognizance of the matter to take immediate remedial action to
save the private school owners & the Parents of the students from undesired harassment &
exploitation.
