2 J&K Girls Bn. NCC, GDC R.S Pura in collaboration with the Department of Environmental Sciences organized a plastic waste collection drive in the college and its vicinity as part of ‘Puneet Sagar Abhiyan’. The activity was conducted under the patronage of Prof. Rajni Bhagat, Principal of the college and guidance of Lt. Shaveta Chowdhary (NCC ANO) and Prof. Esha Abrol HOD, Environmental Sciences. 22 cadets participated in the activity and collected plastic bottles, wrappers, bags etc.
Cadets also sensitized the students regarding the adverse effects of plastics. They also motivated them to use biodegradable alternatives in place of plastics.
The principal of the college appreciated the efforts of the cadets in this initiative and motivated them to continue with the same enthusiasm.
