R Balki spoke out about the teaser and said that Guru Dutt’s Kaagaz Ke Phool was one of many films that was seen as an iconic film today, but was heavily criticized at the time it was released. Do we need to be more sensitive to the work of artists or should artists be more sensitive about what is being said about their work?
R Balki’s first film in the blood and kills genre is Chup. The movie is a thriller of international significance and is being conceptually hailed as the best of its kind. His films have always caught the attention of critics, peers and fans alike. The disruptive filmmaker broke through the clutter with his original ideas and school of thought.
The film’s star cast includes Sunny Deol and Dulquer Salmaan (the south cinema Superstar) and Shreya Dhanwanthary (who made a name for herself with Scam 1992 and Pooja Bhatti, who has recently made a huge comeback with Bombay Begums. R Balki directs the movie. Pen Studios, Hope Filmmakers, and Pooja Bhatt produced it. R Balki wrote the original story. The screenplay and dialogues were co-written by Raja Sen, a critic-turned-writer, and Rishi Vimani.
The film is presented by Dr. Jayantilal Gala (Pen Studios), and worldwide distribution is handled by Pen Marudhar.
