Netflix’s The Curse of Bridge Hollow Movie Review Contains No Spoilers

On Netflix’s “The Curse of Bridge Hollow, Howard movies with his wife Emily and daughter Sydney from Brooklyn to Bridge Hollow town during the Halloween season. Howard is displeased seeing the entire town filled with terrifying figures and is in the frightful spirit of Halloween. Howard doesn’t like the celebration.

A mishap between Howard and his wife rekindles an old curse plagues the city. Costumes for Halloween (scary creatures, zombies clowns, spiders) appear alive. It’s up to Sydney, as well as Howard; the save of saving those who live in Bridge Hollow. Bridge Hollow people. Do they discover the cause behind everything and be successful in their mission? We will find out at the conclusion.

The Curse of Bridge Hollow is a scary comedy but fails in both ways. If you’re curious about why the Halloween decorations are coming to life and causing havoc, the tale doesn’t offer thrilling or exciting scenes. In horror films, the characters usually run in fear of danger. In this instance, the characters, especially the children, are screaming and running when clowns attempt to attack them. The entire scene was turned into comedy, which was not very funny.

The humor is dull, and the terror is dull. Even the spiders and clowns do not look scary. It could be a film designed intended for children under the age of 10 years old. However, they will not understand the events because of the weak plot. Could the film be interesting If it were a short horror film where decorations cause destruction? The answer is yes, and it would’ve created a fascinating movie if it had been done correctly.

In terms of performances, Marlon Wayans has tried to be humorous. However, his weak dialogues don’t reflect his character as Howard. Priah Ferguson is an intelligent and well-assured Erica on Stranger Things. Her character Sydney is similarly clever, minus the sexiness. The other actors don’t contribute much to the plot but quickly play their roles.

The Curse of Bridge Hollow Review: Final Thoughts

The quality of Netflix’s newest addition to its Halloween movie list is average. It doesn’t provide enough laughs or even scares.
