‘SWACHH VIDYALAY PURASKAR 2021–22’ AWARD TO HAMID CHARA ARMY GOODWILL SCHOOL, CHANDIGAM 

Hamid Chara Army Goodwill School, Chandigam has been conferred with the district level ‘Swachh Vidyalay Puraskar 2021-22’ by Deputy Commissioner Kupwara. Army Goodwill School Chandigam, with more than 750 students enrolled in the school, is a senior secondary school in Lolab, District Kupwara, that has carved a niche in various spheres of education and learning.

The school, which came into existence in the year 2000, has been passionately nurtured by the Gujjarpatti Batallion of Counter Insurgency Force Kilo of the Indian Army since its inception.

The “Swachh Vidyalay Puraskar” is an award that has been instituted by the Ministry of Education, Government of India to recognize and inspire excellence in sanitation and hygiene in schools.

The entire team of teachers, students, and administrative staff, under the able guidance of Principal Mrs. Zahida Maqbool, and duly supported by the Rashtriya Rifles Battalion, has been relentless in its pursuit to improve the hygiene practices and COVID-19 appropriate behaviour in the school.

It is a proud moment for the school to fulfil the mandate of the Swachh Vidyalaya campaign and achieve the desired standards in the stipulated five parameters of drinking water, toilets, handwashing with soap, operation and maintenance, and capacity building, and COVID Preparedness and Response.

The Rashtriya Rifles, deployed in a gridded pattern across the UT of J & K, have not only been ensuring a secure environment for the people to prosper but also creating conditions for development work to be undertaken uninterruptedly and infusing energy into education, health, sports, social infrastructure, skilling and employment generation through a host of Sadbhavana activities.
