JDU leaders condemn over lathi charge on NHM workers who were protesting at Jammu

JAMMU, June 14, 2022: NHM ECRP employees reiterated their demand for the continuation of services and lodged a protest in Jammu for the 70th day. The employees were earlier demonstrating at Dogra Chowk. The Police forcefully disbursed and detained the protesters.

Speaking on the occasion, party president GM Shaheen urged the government to regularise the NHM employees as they have played a very important role in controlling the covid19 spread in Jammu and Kashmir.

“Their disengagement from the service and denying their continuation is an injustice to the people who deserve to be regularized given their dedication towards the work.

JDU State Secretary Vivek Bali also extended support to the ongoing protest demonstrations of NHM employees.

In a statement to the press, Bali said that the Party supports the genuine demand of the NHM employees who have been protesting for their continuation in the service.

“The Govt utilized their services in the covid19 situation during both the waves in Jammu and Kashmir and when their requirement ended they were disengaged from the services without any reason.

He said that the Govt acted inhumanly without considering the ground reality as the health department/hospitals lack proper staff leading to the suffering of the patients in many Govt health institutions.

“It would be in the public interest to re-engage these NHM employees and utilize their services,” he said and demanded the continuation of their services. JDU leaders urged the LG administration to resolve their issues at the earliest as they have the final ray of hope.
