Jammu: Nehru Yuva Kendra Jammu has celebrated National Nutrition Month (Rashtriya Poshan Maah) across the Jammu district from 01st September 2022 to 30th September 2022.NYK Jammu organized a program in collaboration with Anganawadi & ASHA workers, and the local Health Department to identify and refer to severe acute malnutrition for treatment initiation and minimize the risk of complications. All possible efforts should be made in convergence with concerned agencies.
National Youth Volunteers have motivated the villagers on the issues of Malnutrition, the importance of breastfeeding, promotion of Kitchen gardens in collaboration with the District Administration, Anganwadi, and ASHA Workers for effective implementation. In this connection, the volunteers of Nehru Yuva Kendra Jammu have organized various activities in collaboration with the education and health departments.
National youth volunteers Shallu Kumariand Tarun Dutt Bali from March, Sahil Sharma And Shveeta Sharma From Nagrota, Priya Chib From Mandal at village SumAnd Sumriti Slathia From Samba at village Gurha Slathia had organized different activities like awareness and door to door campaign, quiz and painting competition, poster making, essay and slogan writing, organization of seminars, lectures, and discussion by eminent resource person on a focused area of Poshan Maah. NYVs are also aware of yoga practice and the importance of a balanced diet in their meals.
