M.P. Legends lifts J&K Masters Inter State Cricket Championship

Inter State Cricket Championship: M.P. Legends trounced Delhi Giants by wickets in a thrilling contest and lifted the J&K Master’s Inter State Cricket Championship at Jammu University Cricket Ground here today.

Inter State Cricket Championship: Sanjay Ranjan Sinha, Director of Veterans Cricket Association of India, was the chief guest in the valedictory function; Rajinder Bhoomla Presided over the function, while Arun Gupta, President Chambers and Commerce Industries, Chambers of Traders Federation, SSP Haseeb Ul Rehman, SSP RK Bhat, Director Dowd Iqbal were the guests of honour.

The chief guest and the other dignitaries distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up teams, along with a cash award of Rs.75,000 to the winning team and Rs.50,000 to the runner team. Earlier, in the summit clash, Delhi Giants won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 145 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 25 overs. Satish scored 40 runs, while Gourav ( 33) and Vipin (13 ) runs contributed to the total.

Rajesh was the pick of the bowlers, who took four wickets, Rahul took two wickets, while Dinesh Sharm and Ajay claimed one wicket each. In reply, M.P. Legends chased the target in 18 overs for the loss of 4 wickets, thus winning the match by six wickets. Dinesh played good innings of 44 runs, while Sanjay Chobey (35) and Rajesh (24). Raju took two wickets for the bowling side while Sameer and Dharam claimed one wicket each for the team.

Rajesh Kanojia was adjudged man of the match in the final game, Ajay Dewidi of M.P. legends was declared Best Bowler, and Gourav Khurana was declared Best Batsman. In contrast, Dinesh Sharma of M.P. legends was declared man of the series award for all-round performance in the Cricket Championship. In his address, the Director Veterans Cricket Association of Indias lavished praise on the organizers for successfully conducting the event.

It said that excellent feedback came from all the participating teams and players regarding the Cricket Championship, which the Veterans Cricket J&K runs in collaboration with J&K Police, Jammu University and VCI. He further said that on the demand of participating teams, I, on behalf of VCI, announced the regular Cricket Event at Jammu. He also appreciated the Sponsors who came forward and joined hands with J&K police to make the event a great success.

The Cricket Championship in which Four teams, namely Mumbai Masters, J&K Seniors, Delhi Giants and M.P.Legends, was organized by Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu in collaboration with Jammu University, Veterans Cricket J&K and Veterans Cricket Association of India and was supported by Chambers of Commerce and Industry Jammu, Chambers of Traders Federation Jammu, Traders Federation Warehouse Jammu, Horizon Group, Wheelocity Skoda and Mulkraj Jewellers, BMRC, HH, Mela Ram Jewellers, Vinson and Nidra Foam.

The Chairman of the Organizing Committee was Mukesh Singh, ADGP Jammu. The executive/organizing committee members of the Cricket Championship included Chandan Kohli SSP Jammu, Ashok Sharma SO to IGP Jammu, RK Bhat SSP, Dowd Iqbal Director Physical Education Jammu University, Ranjeet Kalra Member Sports Council, Vivek Suri Media Journalist, Amit Kumar Journalist, Avinash Kumar, Ashish Singh, Tushar Gaind and Rajesh Gill Chief Prosecuting Officer and the Organizing Secy.

The slogan of the league was “Let Play and Inspire all to Play”, and the main objective of the Cricket Championship was to involve the Senior Players/officers in Cricket activities so that they remain fit and healthy and could share an interaction with the officers/players of different departments and states. Sudhir Singh, Amit Gupta, Ashok, and Amit officiated the match. RP Singh conducted the proceedings of the valedictory function.
